My first one arrived with a faulty selector switch in the plug. I contacted Amazon and they arranged to replace it. I was given next day delivery at no charge. The good news is that the magnets are incredibly strong. Sight unseen I was concerned about this, but once I got the unit in my hands and placed it on the roof of my truck my fears evaporated. I wouldn't worry about the magnets letting go. I would maybe keep an eye on the nuts and screws attaching the magnet pods to the light. I'm not convinced that they're perfectly secure. On to the bad news. Because the front and rear LED banks are indirect, and rely on a curved reflector to display and enhance the light, this unit is not very bright in the daytime. Ambient light, especially sunlight, produces too much visual interference with the reflected LED illumination, so the light seems dim or muted. At night it's fine, so if you're doing work mainly at night this light won't be a problem for you. In the daytime, however, the light is barely noticeable, and I wouldn't trust my safety to it.The two LED banks on the sides of the light are just fine, because they're direct light and are aimed straight out from the sides, not down at a reflector like the front and rear banks. If they used this style all the way around, this light would have been a home run. The WOLO Sure Safe does exactly that, and it's super bright in all weather conditions for about half the price. The problem is that the Sure Safe itself is physically smaller and more compact than this unit, which is why I've been shopping around. It should be noted that the 4-LED banks used on the sides of the Xprite appear to be virtually identical to the 4-LED banks used in the Sure Safe. What's probably going to happen is this light will need to be shipped back, and replaced with something like a Condor, or maybe even a Whelan if I can find one I like in a price range I'm comfortable with.UPDATE 10/15/18:First, I should mention I did a side by side comparison with the Wolo Sure Safe, to judge the brightness. This unit compares favorably, even in the daytime, but I still think the Wolo is the better of the two.I've been using this light for work and it has not blown off of my roof or shown any signs that it even might. It still feels firmly planted, I don't have any movement of any kind. Now for the bad news. This thing is about as waterproof as a newspaper.Despite the product description affirming otherwise, rain got inside my unit and has created condensation inside the lens. I used this light during a stormy night, exactly what you're supposed to be able to do with a piece of safety equipment such as this. Somehow water got inside, and here we are several days later and the water is still inside. It's a miracle the function of the unit doesn't seem to be affected.Needless to say, I am disappointed, I would even say angry. I hope someone from the company is reading this and decides to reach out to me. I cannot in good conscience recommend this light if it can't even keep moisture out during a rainstorm; what good is it on the job site if it's not weatherproof AS ADVERTISED?
